You know us—P & T—always on the lookout for something new, something a little different in Chandigarh. Over the weekend, a new cafe quietly opened its doors to the city’s food lovers, and we happened to stumble upon it at just the right time. We’re talking about The Sip Society Chandigarh, a luxury tea room by the day that effortlessly turns into a chic, London-esque cafe by night.
Trust us—this one fits right into Chandigarh’s evolving café culture, and we’re happily counting ourselves among its first admirers. Here’s why.
The Sip Society Chandigarh: First-Ever Victorian Tea Room & Lounge
For the longest time, P & I have been waiting for someone to bring an authentic high-tea experience to Chandigarh, one that feels less inspired-by and more straight-out-of-London. While a few cafes in Chandigarh have flirted with Regency-era aesthetics, none truly captured the essence. Until now.
Enter The Sip Society Chandigarh, tucked away in the heart of Sector 10, and suddenly, the wait feels entirely worth it.

Picture the cosy elegance of a regal tea room you’d expect to find in London—or even Edinburgh—complete with bespoke velvet upholstery, wooden bookshelves lined with thoughtfully chosen coffee-table books and curios, and a sense of quiet indulgence.
Add a classic piano, plush leather couches, a fully stocked coffee and tea bar, and warm, ambient lighting—and what you get is easily one of the chicest cafés in Chandigarh. A place designed not just to visit, but to linger. To unwind. To let time slow down, whether it’s a slow afternoon or a long evening. Seems like the wait for P & me is finally over and this might just become our regular haunt. More on the food and drinks ahead. Read on!
The Sip Society Chandigarh: Of Teapots, Cuppas & Conversations
We settled into a cosy corner by a large window, sunlight quietly filling the space. A server arrived with the menus and an easy smile. While P took in the café—the bespoke upholstery, the details—I got straight to what mattered most. A quick look through the beverage menu, and it was clear they’d put real thought into it.

The coffee menu follows suit, with offerings like Pumpkin Spiced Latte, Coffee Tonic, Matcha Spiced Latte, and more. There are also shakes, cold-pressed juices, and coolers for those leaning away from caffeine. We kept it classic and ordered a Mocha Latte and a Cappuccino.

Well-brewed, aromatic, and comforting, we enjoyed them slowly, alongside soft music and unhurried conversation.
A Spread Borrowed From European Cafes: Of Brunch, Bakes & Bistro Bites
Coffee done and cameras away, hunger inevitably followed. We turned to the food menu, and what stood out immediately was how thoughtfully it had been put together. From bagels, croffles, and donuts to breakfast platters, shareable plates, pastas, and sourdough pizzas, the range feels deliberate—something for every kind of appetite, without trying too hard.

We ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Donut, Eggs Benedict, and Loaded Lamb Lasagne. The wait time—around 15–20 minutes—felt fair and unhurried, giving us more time to settle in. We skimmed through a few coffee-table reads, took in the space a little more, and soon enough, our plates arrived.

Source: PrinkledWe started with the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Donut, and it genuinely surprised us. The balance of sweet and savoury worked beautifully, with juicy chicken and just the right amount of indulgence. Easily one of the most memorable dishes of the meal. The Eggs Benedict followed—soft buns, well-seasoned eggs, and a smooth hollandaise that tied it all together.

And dessert, of course, had to happen. On the server’s recommendation, we ordered the Callebaut Cookie Skillet with Homemade Peanut Butter Ice Cream. Served warm, with caramelised popcorn and toffee sauce, it arrived exactly as promised. The first bite—gooey chocolate cookie paired with freshly made peanut butter ice cream—was indulgent in the best way.
