Just like every weekend story goes, we were on our way to treat our taste buds to new flavours. This weekend, our exploratory journey led us to Sir Dough Bakehouse Cafe, Mohali, and it exceeded our expectations.
We had initially heard about this cafe in Mohali from our friends and were awestruck by their rave reviews of their delicious bread and brews. Tempted to experience it ourselves, we hurriedly arrived for an early dinner and couldn’t contain our excitement to try out Sir Dough Bakehouse Cafe, Mohali!

P and I have a thing for bakeries and love to try out different types of bread to find the one that pleases our palette. And, while driving to Sir Dough Bakehouse Cafe, we couldn’t help but be excited. While the cafe seating is at an upper level, the lower floor houses the bakery with a few high chairs and a sharing table. As we walked towards the cafe upstairs, we couldn’t help but drool over the deliciously perched desserts, ready to be devoured. I began selecting in my head which one I would try at the end of our meal. Once we were upstairs, the cute cafe left us impressed.
It had a cosy setting and the floral ceiling here added a touch of vibrancy to the whole ambience. The carefully chosen lighting turned this cute cafe in Mohali into a well-lit space, perfect for brunch with your friends. On one side, a quote that seemed to be perfect for their coffee and breads adorned the wall, and, the other side introduced the man behind this cute bakehouse, Chef Manav Suri.
So far, Sir Dough Bakehouse Cafe, Mohali had ticked the box of being a cute, aesthetic cafe. Now, on to the food and let’s just say we have a lot to share!
Savour Heavenly Artisanal Delights Straight From Chef’s Kitchen!
The biggest strength of a bakery is its bread. And, it seems Chef Suri managed to crack it like a boss. The menu offers you almost everything you hope to find at a bakehouse. From Croissants, Sour Dough Sandwiches, and Wood-fired Pizzas to Aromatic Coffee, you’ll find everything tempting. Our server, Rohit was friendly and suggested Spaghetti Alfredo to complement the Spiced Chicken Sandwich we were thinking to order. Heeding his suggestion, we ordered it. And, to go along with the food, we ordered Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Cold Coffee and Lemon Iced Tea.
For the next 20 minutes, we spent our time admiring the aesthetics of the cafe. From pictures of baking dishes in the kitchen to the beautiful artwork on the walls, everything about this cafe in Mohali wowed us. And, just like that, time passed and our food arrived. Without waiting for anything, we began our culinary expedition.
The Spiced Chicken Sandwich was out of this world. Perfectly seasoned and cooked pieces of succulent chicken coated in a mouthwatering sauce, slathered on the toasted signature Sir Dough bread tantalised our taste buds and truly felt divine. The bread was so moist, airy and soft and melted away in our mouths, despite being toasted to perfection. We even enjoyed the perfectly seasoned Potato Wedges with it.

And, to balance the spicy flavours, the Spaghetti Alfredo felt like a warm hug. With pecorino cheese sprinkled over the al dente Spaghetti, the mildness of the Italian flavours soothed the fiery after-effects of the spicy sandwich. We were enjoying this paradox of flavours!
Coming to the coffees, let me just tell you their specially brewed Kodagu coffee from Coorg is sinfully delightful. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was perfect and the Classic Cold Coffee was equally smooth and aromatic. We asked Rohit to not add Ice Cream to classic cold coffee and well, that turned out to be the best decision, It helped us feel the magic of the aromatic brews. The lemon Iced Tea too was refreshing. It perfectly captured the sweet spot between sugary and bitter.
After such a delightful meal, as much as we wanted to try the desserts when we walked in, we had no place in our bellies. Also, we didn’t want to kill the experience of actually tasting the desserts, because we were so full. Hence, we skipped desserts and left this cute, artisanal cafe with a promise to frequently drop by!
Prinkled’s Final Thoughts:
Sir Dough Bakehouse Cafe truly captures the essence of a bakery. It honours the traditionally baked bread and serves up delicious treats you may love. We totally loved this cute cafe and if such places are your thing, do drop by and enjoy!
