When we heard about it from friends in Delhi, we couldn’t wait to try it. And, when we found out that it had opened up in Chandigarh, we couldn’t stop ourselves and immediately made our reservation for a delicious Italian meal. On a Sunday afternoon, we headed to Caffe Tonino in sector 8-C, Chandigarh and what followed later is just like an Italian love affair, but this one’s all about Prinkled’s with food.

Experience Enchanting Charm of Tuscany At Caffe Tonino!

Keeping that in mind, Caffe Tonino Chandigarh has done a remarkable job with its ambience. We headed there for Sunday lunch on a hot summer afternoon. As soon as we entered this cafe in Chandigarh, we were transported to what looked like a villa in Tuscany.

Source: PrinkledIt was open, perfectly lit up with huge windows that allowed sunlight to swoop in, yellow and brown paint reminding you of an Italian villa, wooden interiors interspersed with indoor plants, and had a warm vibe. We found ourselves a comfortable spot right next to the huge window on one side, overlooking the parking lot and the view of the entire cafe on the other. We began admiring the whole Italian vibe that this cafe had and couldn’t shake the feeling of actually being transported to Tuscany!

Well, let us tell you what Prinkled felt about the dishes that were served to us. As soon as we settled in our cosy spot, our server brought us a fresh complimentary bread basket with dips to enjoy. We began exploring the food menu and realised that they served every popular Italian dish that one would love to indulge in!

Source: PrinkledWe ordered Fire Fries and Crispy Chicken Baked Nachos with Cheese Sauce as starters along with Caffe Tonino Delight and Ginger Fizz mocktails. While we were waiting for these to be served we also began exploring what we wanted to eat in the main course. In 15 minutes, our server arrived with our appetisers and mocktails and served us with a smile. We also placed the order for Chicken Lovers Pizza, Speziata con Pollo Pizza and Chicken Penne Pesto for the main course.

Source: PrinkledIn the meantime, we relished the Crispy Chicken Baked Nachos. They were packed with flavour and freshness and the Crispy chicken on top was juicy and crunchy. The whole dish was bound together by a very flavourful sour cream. On the other hand, Fire Fries were coated with a spicy Chilli sauce and were served with sour cream and cheese sauce that elevated the flavour to another level. The signature mocktail, Caffe Tonino Delight was smooth and refreshing and Ginger Fizz was just the right balance between sweet and tangy!

Source: PrinkledOur main course arrived after 20 minutes, and we couldn’t help but admire the presentation and service. While the Chicken Lovers Pizza was square-shaped, the Speziata con Pollo was circular. The Chicken Penne Pesto pasta was served with lightly toasted garlic bread, and it looked quite appetising. We dug right in and took our taste buds on a quick trip to Tuscany. Both pizzas were absolutely gob-smacking, loaded with flavour thanks to the authentic sauce and even more flavorful toppings. The Chicken Lovers Pizza turned out to be our favourite. The Speziata con Pollo Pizza is on the spicier side, and we would recommend it to those who enjoy the kick of Italian chilli on their palate. As for the pasta, it was al dente, and the pesto sauce was just the right amount of creamy and nutty. It perfectly coated each piece of Penne and chicken, and we enjoyed every bit of it.
Italian Desserts For The Win!
Source: PrinkledAfter these delicious and flavourful 2-courses, we didn’t want to miss out on the ‘Dolci’ (desserts). So, to end things on a sweet note, we ordered Baked Cheesecake and Tiramisu.
Source: PrinkledAnd, let us vouch for it, both turned out to be absolutely sinfully delicious. The Baked Cheesecake was served with a berry and passion fruit sauce and was absolutely sinful to taste. And, the Tiramisu was just mind-blowing. With the right balance of coffee and cream, it is probably one of the best in Chandigarh and shouldn’t be missed!
In the end, in a 3-hour lunch, we were transported to the gorgeous city of Tuscany, all thanks to the amazing ambience and authentic Italian treats served at Caffe Tonino. We’d recommend you take this trip as soon as you can, after all, this won’t be denting your pocket as much as a literal trip to Tuscany! *winks*
