By now, most of you know that we take our food very seriously when we go out, and hence, whenever we try a new cafe in Chandigarh, we’re always very excited. Having heard so much about this new cafe in town, Oven Roast & Grill Chandigarh, we decided to give it a shot. We were excited about our Sunday lunch at this newly opened cafe in Sector 35, Chandigarh.
Since we had seen this cafe in a lot of social media posts, we were looking forward to trying the food here. So, without further ado, here’s all about our Sunday lunch at Oven Roast & Grill Chandigarh.
Oven Roast & Grill Chandigarh: A Vibrant & Lively Ambience Welcomes You!
As soon as you enter this new cafe in Chandigarh, you can’t help but soak in the lively vibes. Busy and bustling with people, finding a place to sit was certainly a task on a Sunday afternoon. But we managed to find a spot to chill and began admiring the vibrant decor of the cafe.
Hues of green interspersed with shiny wooden furniture lend an earthy feel to this new cafe in Chandigarh. While it did seem quite similar to another popular cafe in Chandigarh, Oven Roast & Grill certainly had its own unique character and vibe.

The perfect lighting across the cafe was certainly enough to click pretty pictures for the ‘gram. While we were admiring the cafe, we tried to get the attention of the servers who seemed occupied. However, in another 5 minutes, we had a server at our table with the menu, and we began exploring it.
Full Points For Variety, Average In Taste!
Once we checked out the menu, we knew that at Oven Roast & Grill, there was something for every foodie. While the majority of dishes on their menu were European and Asian, there was also a bit of Mexican thrown in.
We ordered a Crazy Chicken Tikka Pizza and Cottage Cheese Skewers Sizzler. And to wash it down, we ordered a Cafe Latte and Lemon Iced Tea. We even informed the server about our preference for low sugar in the Iced Tea and our allergies to mushrooms in the sizzler. Initially, we were served complimentary chips and coleslaw, which gave us a clear picture of their attempt to emulate another popular cafe in the city. Those who have long been patrons of that cafe would instantly recognize Oven Roast & Grill’s imitation.

After placing our order, we observed how the servers, staff, and management were highly focused on ensuring a seamless experience for a select few guests. It was clearly part of their marketing tactics through well-known social media channels in the city. However, in the meantime, regular guests like us were waiting for our orders to arrive. After a while, we checked with our server about the status of our order, and the next minute, a part of it arrived.
The Sizzler was the first to arrive along with the Cafe Latte and Lemon Iced Tea. With just one sip of the Lemon Iced Tea, I realized that they hadn’t paid attention to our request. We called the server to inform him of the mistake, and he seemed clueless about how to handle the situation. We asked him to adjust the Lemon Iced Tea and bring it back.
Another request that they completely ignored was regarding the mushrooms. The Sizzler was served with mushrooms, which left us exasperated at their sheer negligence. However, we decided to let it be. Since I couldn’t taste the sizzler, I relied on P’s opinion, and according to him, it was just average and not worth the long wait.
Lastly, the Crazy Chicken Tikka Pizza arrived, but to our unpleasant surprise, it turned out to be a Paneer Tikka Pizza! Yes, the server had taken the wrong order, and when we pointed it out, he insisted that we had requested a Paneer Tikka Pizza. The manager intervened and assured us that he would replace the pizza, so we waited for another 15 minutes for it to arrive.
Well, this replacement pizza was delicious, I won’t deny that. However, our mood had already been dampened by the earlier experience, so we rushed through our meal and decided to go somewhere else to forget about this average experience.
To be honest, everything we ate was average in taste. Despite hearing delightful experiences through various popular social media channels about Oven Roast & Grill, Chandigarh, it was nothing more than an average experience for us. The hype wasn’t worth it, and for those who appreciate good food, we suggest skipping this place and spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.
Prinkled’s Parting Thoughts:
If only the management of Oven Roast & Grill, Chandigarh paid more attention to the walk-in guests rather than focusing solely on marketing attempts through specially invited guests, they might just be able to impress foodies!
I do agree by your review !!!!
