And this year, at the launch of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, all celeb lovers got a chance to admire, judge and adore not only Indian celebrities but also international stars. Names like Zendaya, Tom Holland, Gigi Hadid, Nick Jonas, Penelope Cruz and more graced the red carpet at the 2-day launch event, The Great Indian Musical. While OF COURSE these stars were a hit on the red carpet barring a few fashion disasters, it was the Indian paparazzis who stole the show with their commentary on celebs. Zendaya? No, Jhaandeya!
While it certainly is hard pronouncing certain international names for most of us, Indian Paparazzi seemed to be no different. Spiderman star Zendaya, who walked the red carpet at NMACC launch day 2 in Mumbai was faced with a unique situation. The shutterbugs couldn’t really get her name right while requesting her to pose for the camera. In the clips that went viral, we can hear a paparazzo calling her, “Jhaandeya, look this mobile.” Another shutterbug was seen naming her as ‘Spiderman Ki Girlfriend.” These paparazzi funny videos went viral due to the harmless and humorous aspect and netizens came up with several memes over it. However, there was a certain section on social media also calling it a problem for Indian media!

Nick Jonas, Sorry But Don’t Be ‘Shy’ Next Time!
The paps love Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas. Time and again, when Nick and PeeCee have come to India, they’ve won hearts of the paps. This time again at the NMACC launch day 2, the paps couldn’t help but tease Nick. Most of them called him ‘Jiju’ and one of the paps was heard suggesting that Nick was feeling shy while posing. The pap said to PeeCee, “Nick Jiju Sharma Gaye”, after which the Sucker singer stood alone and posed for the paps. Another was heard calling him, “Nickwa”. Well, Sorry Nick, you gotta leave shyness back in the States for the international paps as Indian shutterbugs adore you!
Paparazzi Funny Videos 101: Gigi Bey Not GeGe!
Well, even supermodel Gigi Hadid, with the simplest of names, seemed to be in for a surprise when one of the shutterbugs called her ‘GeGe’ instead of Gigi. The gorgeous star graced the red carpet at NMACC launch day 2 in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla saree and left everyone in awe. But, eventually the paps stole the show with the pronunciation of GigI’s name. Not just this, on day 1 of the launch, a pap even confused her with being Shakira. He can be heard asking a fellow pap, ‘Shakira Hai Kya?’ while pointing to Gigi! And the peak Maharashtrian moment of pride was when one of the paps expected Gigi to understand the meaning of ‘ikde’ as he called out, “Gigi ikde ikde”!

Spiderman who? Meet ‘MAKDI MAN’
Looks like Marvel Studios needs to change the name of the SpiderMan series to a newly coined name by Indian paparazzi, ‘Makdi Man’. This happened when Tom Holland posed for the paps on day 2 of NMACC launch in Mumbai. Many shutterbugs addressed him as “Makdi Man”. But that wasn’t all. Several even remembered the name of his Marvel film and called him ‘Tom Homecoming’. Well, sorry Tom, but you gotta love the Indian shutterbugs for promoting your film franchise even at an Indian event!

Apart from the international celebs, even Indian celebs received a hilarious yet warm welcome from the paps when they arrived at the red carpet of NMACC.
