India’s capital city in the summer season isn’t quite an ideal place for a short break, considering the temperature soars up to 45 degrees and more. One would prefer to avoid heading to New Delhi for a quick getaway. However, we, being who we are, wanted to give it a shot and last summer chose to head over to New Delhi for a short getaway in June. Thinking we’re crazy to visit Delhi in the peak of summer? Hold on, the hotel in New Delhi that we picked will surprise you!
While discussing with each other, several amazing hotel properties came to our mind, but we zeroed in on the one that seemed convenient as per the location and looked absolutely stunning in photos. Tired of waiting for the big reveal? Well, we’re talking about none other than Crowne Plaza, Mayur Vihar in Delhi. Well-connected to Central Delhi and Noida, this amazing hotel in Delhi certainly ticked a lot of boxes for us when it came to what we had in mind for a summer getaway.
We booked the Crowne Plaza for two nights in May, and guess what? We got two meals included in the package along with a discount on beverages as part of the deal. Thinking it must have punched a hole in our pockets? Well, you’re in for a surprise! In just 16K, we booked the property with two meals a day for two people. Sounds cool, right?

An Oasis Amid The City’s Hustle!
Swimsuit? Check. Shades? Check. Bookings? Check… and off we went! As we arrived after a five-hour drive from Chandigarh, we were greeted by a warm concierge at Crowne Plaza, Mayur Vihar, who took care of our luggage and asked us to wait at The Corner, the hotel’s lounge-cum-bar while he checked if our room was ready or not. We decided to sip on drinks while we waited before exploring the hotel.
Within 20 minutes, we got our early check-in and were taken up to our room. So far, all our requests had been accommodated, including a high-rise floor and a non-smoking room. As the concierge gave us a room tour and explained all the amenities, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the aesthetic decor of the room. Spacious, minimalist yet giving off rich feels, our room gave us an expansive view of the small water pond, skyscrapers in Noida, and the Delhi metro track. As we were beginning to settle, we noticed a platter of handmade chocolates with a welcome note from the General Manager of the hotel. This sweet gesture instantly made me go ‘aww.’

The comfy bed was way too inviting for us to ignore it for long, and before we knew it, we grabbed our spots and cuddled up to watch our favorite show, The Newsroom, on the massive smart TV. Our lunch arrived, and the server was way too friendly and even suggested we give the pool a try in the evening. And well, we were definitely looking forward to it. We enjoyed the delicious sandwich with fresh juice and then hit the snooze for a few hours!

Gift From The Heaven Above: The Infinity Pool At This Hotel In New Delhi
Believe it or not, Crowne Plaza has one of the most well-designed and equipped health clubs in Delhi! We discovered this when we put on our swimsuits and headed to the first floor for some summer respite at the Infinity pool. The gym, as well as the spa, was extremely tempting, and we wanted to explore them too. However, one sight of the infinity pool, and everything else faded in comparison. Overlooking the skyline of Delhi on one side, it’s the place you want to spend maximum hours in the heat of the summer. We quickly took our shower and jumped right in. And boy, oh boy, we had no intent of coming out for another 2 hours.
The instructor there was warm and friendly and helped both of us overcome our fear of water. And, in no time, both of us began enjoying the feeling of letting ourselves loose in the pool’s cool water. While frolicking around in the pool, we ordered ourselves a couple of mocktails and caught a glimpse of the beautiful sunset. Truly an experience in itself, the pool time we had that evening was exactly what we needed to beat the tiredness and heat of summer!
Hotel In New Delhi With All You Can Eat Hours!

Being hardcore gourmands, we take our meals pretty seriously, and for some reason, we were way too excited to try out Crowne Plaza’s food. So as it clocked 9 PM, we headed to Infinity, the hotel’s multi-cuisine restaurant, for their dinner buffet. Our table was set, and the restaurant manager helped us get comfortable with a welcome drink and the menu. He gave us a guided tour of what the chefs had cooked up for dinner at the buffet, and we were in awe. From Indian, Chinese to Continental, each cuisine had its appetising representation in the buffet.
Source: PrinkledWe began with delicious Mughlai appetisers and relished the juicy Chicken tikka, followed by Hara Bhara Kebab. While we were still lost in the deliciousness of these, the server brought us chilli chicken and spring rolls, which were equally gobsmacking. With good food being served piping hot and conversations flowing, time went by real quick, and we decided to raid the main course. Keeping it simple, I enjoyed naan with Murgh Masala and Malai Kofta, while my partner relished Chicken Dum Biryani. The Chef’s magic had worked, and we were in a food coma. The desserts were absolutely mouth-watering and were a perfect ending to an amazing meal. The experience, the ambiance, the taste, and overall time spent at Infinity at Crowne Plaza were worth it!
Binge Away At The Scrumptious Breakfast Spread!
Source: PrinkledThe most amazing meal of the day is breakfast, especially when you’re on a vacay with bae. Don’t you agree with Prinkle? After the wholesome and delicious meal at dinner, Infinity was once again ready to serve up a crackling meal at breakfast. And like any other 5-star hotel, they too left no stone unturned in serving up almost everything. From Indian treats like parathas and Cholle Bhature to continental brekkie combos of bacon and eggs, doughnuts and coffee, everything was available. We began with warm milk and cereal and proceeded to relish a dosa, Cholle Bhature and paratha with curd. Again, the chef’s didn’t disappoint us as everything was just flavourful and mouth-watering.

Even at the busiest hour, the staff was as attentive as one could be and were going above and beyond to make it a memorable breakfast for all. Prinkle left with a sweet smile after a wholesome, appetising and hearty breakfast!
A Much Needed Escape Right In The City!
Source: PrinkledThe next day went by pretty quickly in the same fashion as day 1 at Crown Plaza and we just couldn’t help but feel a bit sad to leave. Prinkle just couldn’t get enough of the hospitality, the warmth, the delicious treats that came perfectly together for a fun and much needed getaway for us. And all of it, within a decent budget.
