Carry On Jatta 3 Review: Gippy Grewal & Co Master A Comedy of Errors Once Again; Sonam Bajwa Shines!

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the fact that Carry On Jatta 3, just like its predecessors, is a riotous comedy of errors. And let me tell you, nailing this genre repeatedly is no easy feat. However, it seems like Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Gurpreet Ghuggi, and Jaswinder Bhalla have cracked the code and knocked it out of the park with their impeccable comic timing. In Carry On Jatta 3, we witness the epic return of the father-son duo, Jas (played by Gippy Grewal) and Advocate Dhillon (Jaswinder Bhalla), as they bring their hilarious bickering back to the screen.

To spice things up, Jas’s Mama (Karamjit Anmol) joins the fray, adding an extra dose of amusement to their squabbles. And let’s not forget about Goldy (Binnu Dhillon) and his wife Daljeet (Kavita Kaushik), who jump into the mix, leaving Jas’s life in delightful disarray. Brace yourself for a rollercoaster ride of laughter by talented director Smeep Kang!

Carry On Jatta 3 Storyline:

The story is as straightforward as it gets. Jas, accompanied by his friends Goldy and Honey, attends a wedding where he instantly falls head over heels for Meet (Sonam Bajwa). Jas and his friends devise a plan to elevate his image in Meet’s eyes, hoping to win her heart. Surprisingly, their mischievous tactics succeed, and Jas and Meet embark on a romantic journey. Laughter ensues when Jas decides to marry Meet, and chaos ensues when Jas’s father, Advocate Dhillon, gets into a heated altercation with Meet’s uncles. The outrageous and comical situations that arise from Jas and his friends’ attempts to reconcile Advocate Dhillon and Meet’s uncles for their impending wedding create a whirlwind of confusion.

Stellar Performances!

It’s an undeniable truth that Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Jaswinder Bhalla, and Gurpreet Ghuggi form the ultimate comedy dream team in Punjabi cinema. These immensely talented pillars of the industry have consistently delivered side-splitting performances and impeccable comedic timing, leaving the audience in stitches. And they continue to work their magic in Carry On Jatta 3 as well. Gippy, portraying Jas once again, effortlessly embodies the lovable, innocent guy who can spin tall tales just to win the heart of his beloved. He does a fantastic job, as always.

Binnu Dhillon shines as Goldy, Jas’s loyal friend who never hesitates to plunge headfirst into hilarious misadventures. Although we do miss his chemistry with Advocate Dhillon and his witty retorts to the latter’s iconic line, “Advocate Dhillon ne kaala coat aivein ni paya” from the previous instalments, he still leaves an impression with his comedic brilliance. Gurpreet Ghuggi, portraying Honey, flawlessly embodies the role of the well-meaning friend whose solutions inadvertently lead to more chaos than resolution. While attempting to assist Jas, he never fails to tickle the audience’s funny bone with his endearing buffoonery.

In the midst of it all, it is the remarkable acting skills and impeccable comic timing of veteran Punjabi actor Jaswinder Bhalla that elevate the film during its weaker moments. His extensive experience in comedy undeniably proves advantageous as he effortlessly brings forth laughter that leaves your jaw aching. There is a particular scene in the film, reminiscent of the one from the Aamir Khan-Ajay Devgn starrer Ishq, featuring Jas, Advocate Dhillon, Jas’s Mama, Honey, and Goldy. This scene perfectly encapsulates the prowess of this ensemble in generating laughter without even trying too hard.

Sonam Bajwa, portraying Meet, captivates audiences with her infectious smile and stunning appearance, effortlessly winning their hearts. Although her character may not be extensively fleshed out, she excels in nailing every bit that has been written for her. The supporting cast includes Kavita Kaushik, portraying Goldy’s wife, whose role may be a tad exaggerated, but she wholeheartedly embraces it and delivers her best performance. Shinda Grewal, as Goldy and Daljeet’s son, brings forth a delightful mix of cuteness and humor in scenes where he aids Jas, Goldy, and Honey with solutions to their predicaments.

Flawless Dialogues & Groovy Music!

Now, let’s delve into the most crucial aspect of this comedy franchise: the dialogues. Undoubtedly, the impeccably crafted dialogues stand as the backbone of Carry On Jatta 3. It is through these uproarious lines that the immensely talented cast brings the film to life, eliciting laughter from the audience. A round of applause is well-deserved for the dialogue writer, Naresh Kathooria, who has done a commendable job in delivering such witty and entertaining lines.

And the music, well, Carry On Jatta 3 may feature a few additional songs, but they seamlessly integrate into the plot and exude an energetic vibe that keeps the audience thoroughly entertained. The special song “Jatti,” featuring Ammy Virk, is a delightful dance number that will instantly get you grooving. Other notable songs include “Bura Haal” by Atif Aslam and “Farishtey” by B Praak. The music of these songs is lively, enjoyable, and leaves a lasting impression. Composer Jaani has done a fabulous job in this department!

Prinkled’s Final Thoughts:

All in all, Carry On Jatta 3, despite a few flaws such as occasionally overindulging in unfunny antics related to black magic and an unnecessary subplot involving Jas’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law demeaning him, manages to outweigh its weaknesses with its strengths. This makes it an absolute must-watch film for the weekend.

Therefore, we, at Prinkled, wholeheartedly recommend booking your tickets this weekend and immersing yourself in the joyous experience of Carry On Jatta 3 with your entire family!
