Homestay in Himachal Pradesh

Who doesn’t love the fresh, cool breeze rejuvenating their senses and soul? But, the fact is, with the rising level of pollution in our cities, access to fresh and clean air is limited. This tryst gets harder in summers and it’s then that we like to escape to the hill stations for a refreshing break. But even there, we’re often met with crowds of people and hotels are full. And, before you know it, the peace and quiet of the hill station is replaced by crowded roads, honking cars and loud tourists. But, Prinkled found a perfect solution to this problem in a beautiful Airbnb in Himachal Pradesh just on the outskirts of Solan.

We’re talking about the Red Roof Farmstay near Solan. This quaint Airbnb is the perfect spot for those looking to skip the loud tourists at a hill station and spend quality time amid nature.

The Quaint Farmstay: A Refreshing Escape

Situated 75 Kms from Chandigarh, this beautiful Airbnb is suitable for a group of friends, families as well as couples who would like a quiet place for themselves. Hosted by Vandana Mehta, this Airbnb has quite the view of Solan city and of the passing toy trains that leave the Barog station.

While the Red Roof Farmstay is on the outskirts of Solan, it is well connected with the city and is also at a prime spot. It is also easy to spot from the highway, all thanks to the ‘Red Roof’. This Airbnb offers you two options: A 2-BHK with a balcony and lawn & A 1-BHK with balcony and lawn. So, couples who need a smaller place for themselves, can opt for the 1-BHK and those coming with friends and family can book the bigger part of this beautiful Airbnb in Himachal Pradesh.

Panoramic View From The Balcony Of Solan City!

We booked the 1-BHK for 2 days in April for a quick break from the mundane life and voila, the adventure began. We left around 11 AM from Chandigarh and drove to this gorgeous Airbnb. As the Airbnb is geotagged on Google maps, it was absolutely easy to find it. We reached around 12:40 PM and parked our car at the special parking lot they have just on the side of the highway.

A small walk down an inclined path took us to Mrs Vandana’s main house, where she warmly greeted and welcomed us. We sat and got to know her better over juice and small nibbles. And, while we were chit-chatting, she also completed the check-in formalities. As soon as it was done, she introduced us to Nitin, the help and caretaker of the Airbnb, who took us to our beautiful abode for the next 2 days.

The 1-BHK is located at a level below the main house, but the location is so apt that you can see the panoramic view of the entire Solan city from the lawn and balcony. Nitin showed us around the Airbnb and made us aware of all the facilities that were available.

A beautifully decorated lounge area with a huge smart TV for entertainment, a small collection of books and lots of coffee mugs greet you as you enter the Airbnb. The balcony outside this lounge is a highlight for those who like to enjoy their tea and coffee with a view.

As we walked inside, we found ourselves a small kitchenette with necessary utensils and glassware, enough for 2 people for the weekend. An induction cooktop was also available to heat up tea or coffee or make some nibbles like Pahado wali Maggi!

And then, came the master bedroom with a huge King-size bed and a massive window with a view of Solan. An entire side of the room is dedicated to storage and a fresh pair of flip-flops also are available to use for guests. But what really hooked us in was the magnificent view from the room window. We really were in need for a quiet getaway and that’s what this Airbnb in Himachal Pradesh was promising and so far, delivering.

Delectable and Farm Fresh Food At This Airbnb In Himachal Pradesh!

Another reason Prinkled fell in love with this quaint Airbnb was the fact that they have a farm to table food concept where all their ingredients are fresh. The vegetables and fruits are locally sourced and some are even grown at their own farm. Their Farmstay also has an apple orchard which you can check out while you explore the property. Nitin, the caretaker also doubles up as a brilliant cook and we got to try his dishes first hand in two days.

Delicious Chicken Curry Made With Fresh Ingredients!

All you need to do is decide what you want to eat and inform him 2-3 hours prior and voila, your food will be served right in your kitchen at the time of your choosing. We enjoyed Kadhai Paneer, Chicken Curry, Aaloo Parathas, Paneer Parathas and Gobhi Parathas over a span of 2 days and let me tell you, the food was absolutely delicious and finger-licking good!

What’s even more amazing is that if you need any supplies from the market, Nitin can help you with those too and you don’t have to face the city’s hustle and bustle while on your escapade.

Another reason why we would recommend this Airbnb Farmstay is its connectivity with Zomato. All the restaurants and Cafes in Solan that are listed on Zomato deliver here. We tested it out twice with Pizza Hut and KFC and well, in 25 minutes average time, we had our meals delivered to us.

Sweet Sound Of Toy Train, Beautiful Sunrise and Sunset Galore!

Coming to the delightful views and sounds that greet you at this Airbnb, one can easily spot the small train passing at least 4 times a day while sitting in the lounge or on the balcony. The sound of the train passing by comes as a welcome break from the peace and quiet at the right times. We found ourselves waiting for Chuk-Chuk like kids both the days we were there.

An Unmissable Sunrise!

Another thing we looked forward to was the sunrise and sunset. The beautiful sunrise at around 6:20 AM and Sunset around 5:15-20 PM was a highlight of our trip. Both of these were accompanied by the music of birds chirping and what a symphony it was! Holding a cup of coffee and enjoying these miracles of nature with your beloved felt just like a dream!

After a 2-day stay, we left Red Roof Farmstay with a happy heart and contentment, thoroughly relaxed and rejuvenated. So, to all our friends and followers looking to book a stay, go ahead and contact Mrs Vandana here and book yourself a much needed break from the heat and hustle and bustle of the city!
